Snowshoeing at the Fort

Description

There's no better way to embrace winter than by taking a leisurely snowshoe walk through the various landscapes at Historic Fort Snelling. Along our 1/2 mile route, we'll make stops to enjoy the view and hear from our knowledgeable staff about how winter conditions were faced by the peoples of the region going back thousands of years. We'll traverse the woodlands near the fort then enter the main gate to get an idea of how it looked, and how a cold Minnesota winter was endured.

For ages 10 and up

Includes a free hot chocolate or cider, and admission to the recently opened Visitor Center. Snowshoes may be available, or feel free to bring your own! Dress warmly, come out and enjoy the experience! If snow is not adequate for snowshoeing, we'll explore on foot....there's so much to see!
