Evaluating Conflicting Records
Description
How do you know if the genealogy information you saw on the Internet or received from a cousin is correct? How do you decide between conflicting information your own research has uncovered about an ancestor? This class will include case studies and look at the questions we need to ask about information we gather in order to evaluate its trustworthiness. Instructor bio: Tom Rice, CGSM, is a professional genealogical researcher, lecturer, and writer. He is a past director of the Minnesota Genealogy Society, serves as a genealogy help desk volunteer at the Gale Family Library, and has his own research business, Heritage Hunters.
